A drop of water that seemed as large as a lake

If I could have my time again, I think I would be a microbial ecologist. I would spend my time studying microorganisms in natural environment. I'd cut my way through forests of bacteria on a grain of sand. I would imagine myself in a submarine, in a drop of water that seemed as large as a lake. And for one more turn around I would be an explorer naturalist in a new world
E.O. Wilson, in Lord of the Ants (NOVA documentary, 2009)

  1. Interesting. Reminds me of that movie- where they would shrink a guy into a nano robot and by mistake he would be injected into some civilians body and he would roam around and finally the scientist is restored to his normal self and resturns to his wife? Not honey I shrink the kids, the other one.

I expected a post from your about this god particles, but you are posting about naturalist? :)

    1. Dammit, I only know Honey I Shrunk the Kids, and it's various sequels (I'm not ashamed to have watched all of them).

But the whole "scientist shrinks himself" has been done so many times (including many cartoons and Mighty Boosh). I wonder which movie did it first.

Aaah, thanks for reminding me of doing that! I just exploded over Twitter after the news, that I didn't bother with a blog post. But maybe I should do one...

Still busy with the Turkey post, even till now. Taking longer than usual...

    2. You're thinking of Fantastic Voyage.
